County weekend November 2017
Bedfordshire County Team Top the Group.
A successful men’s county weekend held at the newly built Club Towers saw Bedfordshire top their group and put themselves in with a chance of promotion to division 1 in February.
The first match vs Berkshire saw Beds come back from 2-0 down with wins at 1,2 and 3 in the order from Gbenga, Steve and Nathan. The second match saw the real upset of the weekend with a rare victory for the side over Bucks. A fantastic 3-2 win 18-16 in the 5th from Bruce St Leger at 5 got the side off to a great start. Nathan Derrick picked up a well deserved 3-1 win at number 3 in the order and Gbenga finished things off with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Alex Preston at number 1.
Beds still needed to beat Northants convincingly to ensure they got enough points overall on the final day to finish ahead of Bucks. Wins from Gbenga, Steve, Will and Matt Suckling proved enough to complete the teams victory.
