- Minutes of 2016 AGM
- Reports
Overall our funds decreased slightly from £2,502 to £2,491 . Our income was £1,622 and expenditure £1,634.
In 2015/16 we received an England Squash disbursement of £1,286. There was also far more income and expenditure due to us running the ChilternAcademy. This has been superceded by the Aspire programme which is run via the East Region.
The main activities were: Net Income/Loss
Beds League entry fees of £1,200 less software cost of £300 £900
England Squash rebate £157
Bunyan/Flitwick coaching £270
England Squash Level 1 course £150
Under 11/13 team matches £61
Beds Closed £30
Beds Junior Open £165
County matches £453
Total £12
Last year it was agreed that all fees should be paid by the end of September. I was still chasing monies in January! Seven teams paid between November and the end of January. This year I have proposed that League entry fees and England Squash memberships should be paid by the 25th October to avoid this problem. I have also added an extra column to the League players spreadsheet to make it clear how England Squash membership is being achieved.
County Captain’s Report was delivered by Steve Davies – This year the competition was organised on a regional basis. The team lost 5-0 to Bucks and 3-2 to Berks in the first round. They then won one and lost one against Herts and Suffolk.
The Over 45s lost both stages whilst the Girls Under 13s won their first round but lost in the semi final to Middx.

4. Fees Payable and Deadline
It was agreed that the membership fee for the League should stay at £80 and that seven players from each team should be registered with England Squash.
The Treasurer proposed and it was agreed that the League fee and any England Squash fees should be paid by the 25th October.
Paul White agreed to send a copy of the pdf describing how England Squash used the membership fees.

Minutes of the Team Captains Meeting held on the 12th July 2017 at Towers Club
Present: As for the AGM
1. The trophy for the Monday Beds League was presented to Simon Percival and Dave Pugh from OU2.
2. Entries for the 2017/18 Beds League
It is expected that there will be one entry from Mowsbury, LDSC,Carlton, MK Squash, Biggleswade, Bunyan and two from OU and Towers plus David Lloyd (1 or 2). Simon will contact Letchworth and Flitwick to ask whether they will enter a team.
That gives 12 to 14 teams.
It was agreed that teams would play in one Division, home and away, PAR to 15. Start date to be confirmed but potentially th 9th or 16th October.
3. Policy for player selection where a Club had more than one team in the League
It was agreed that Simon Marshall should write to ClubNet to ask for the software to be changed so that the first 5 players in each team were fixed but the remainder could play for either team.
4. Cup Competition
It was agreed that Simon Marshall would organise a knock out cup competition to be played on Mondays during the season. MattTowers kindly agreed to donate a cup for the winners.
5. Friendly Matches
It was agreed that we should organise some friendly matches as a way of encouraging new players to play in the League teams. There would be one per month on a Wednesday with a launch at Towers.
6. AOB
Paul White said that he had added an extra column to the team sheet spreadsheet to indicate clearly how each team would provide 7 players who were registered with England Squash.
This would consist of:
England Squash Registration
Enter Club, self or £10 for 7 players
So LDSC, who pay ES fees for all of their players, would enter Club. Someone who paid their own fees would enter Self. If a team wanted Paul White to pass on their payments they would enter £10 and include this money with their League fee.
Simon Marshall asked team reps not to book venues for next season’s fixtures until notified by him that the fixtures had been confirmed. This is because the fixtures that initially appear on the website may have to be changed if there are too many venue clashes.
