at Wingfield Club, Ampthill

Present: S.Barnett, S.Barlow, C.Johnstone, T.Blott, B.Sear, M.Lancaster, J.Barker.

Apologies: M. Adkin, S.Olney, B.Williams, G.Curzon-Taylor. C.Johnstone.

Minutes of Last Meeting: Were approved and duly signed.

Matters Arising: None. The chairman announced that in future we should spend no more than 10 minutes on any one agenda item in order to keep meetings to a sensible length.

Finance: B.Williams sent a report that we had £3877.75 in Main and deposit account

with £644.36 in Development Account. Paid out various expenses for the first county week-ends and funds have also been made available to certain age groups in the juniors.  Balances look good but we shall have very little income now until end of financial year March 31st.

League Report: Nothing to report, although it was agreed that if both teams agreed to play outside the one week time it would be accepted.  However no results will be accepted after 31st March as per 7 day rule. J.Barker reported the only club playing in the leagues who is not affiliated is Houghton Regis, S.Barnett will action.

County Team Reports: S.Barlow reported Mens team came 2nd in Div 1 North so will be in promotion week-end, however he was concerned that the next week-end was the same as final week-end of Nationals.

S.Olney sent a report for the Ladies in Div 2 South only 3 teams in the group so all played on same day, they beat Glamorgan and lost to Herts, unfortunately affected by last minute injuries to two of the squad. However will hope for a full team for the next week-end when they play in the promotion group.

T.Blott reported that Over35 won all their matches against Oxon, Herts and Cambs.

M.Adkin sent a report for U19 boys they hosted their week-end at Club Squash but the opposition was too strong for them and they ended up 4th, and there will be no final week-end due to teams pulling out. However a friendly match has been arranged with Cambridgeshire on 3rd December at Bedford.

G.Curzon-Taylor had to withdraw the U17 boys on the Tuesday before the week-end as 3 boys withdrew from the match and he had not any other players to use. So the team will be fined.  The committee felt that we need to get some sort of commitment from these players who are receiving subsidised coaching, it was suggested we should get some commitment from their parents.

B.Lust sent a report for Girls U13 and U15, the U13 won all their matches against Kent, Essex and Sussex 2 all 3 girls won all their matches. In the U15 again the 3 U13 played plus a 13, 14 year old and they beat Hertfordshire but lost to West Glamorgan. Both teams will go on to play in the next week-ends.

Juniors: M.Adkin reported 5 sessions of coaching has taken place for the U17/U19 squad, which has generally been well attended with up to 6 boys attending.

We have a few problems with the Child Protection but it must be made clear that anyone dealing with juniors on behalf of the county must be covered.

Coaching: Nothing to report.

Tournaments:  Senior Closed County  and O35, O45 will take place at the beginning of April at Club Squash, which Foxley Kingham should support again.

Junior closed county will take place 24/25th March at Club Squash.

Any Other Business: S.Barlow reported a schedule for the juniors will be sorted out, the junior committee is meeting on 6th December.

S.Barnett reported Marking pads had been ordered, also he had received the Dunlop package for the Juniors.

Date of Next Meeting: 31st January,2001 at Wingfield Club 8p.m.
