Flitwick Junior Squash Club had its first Tournament Day which was held
at Flitwick Leisure Centre on 5th December 2009. Good support from both
the parents and club sponsor Mark Plummer Carpentry Ltd (with which
great thanks is given) ensured a big turnout and successful day. The
result was 18 juniors (ages 7 to 16) attending and having a fun filled
and enjoyable time. The day would not have been as a success had it not
been without the help and organisation of newly appointed head coach
Steve Davies and Assistant Level 1 coaches Mark Tentori and Mike
Jarvis. They made sure that the events ran smoothly and were enjoyed by
all. Several events were put on to include all and keep those who
attended entertained throughout the day. Events included a Girls v Boys
Team handicap match, personal best stroke challenge and beat the coach &
save the chocolate. Despite the fun and frolics there had to be a
winner and in turn Tournament winners were Joanne Mosselmans and Fred
McMenamy. Mark Williams of England Squash & Racketball was on hand to
congratulate and present match winners medals and pledged support to
provide additional coaching for 2010.
